Crimson is a fantasy/horror comic book series created by artist Humberto Ramos and scripter Brian Augustyn from story concepts by script F.G. Haghenbeck and Oscar Pinto. It was published by Wildstorm Comics' Cliffhanger imprint of creator-owned comics.
Crimson revolves around a young man named Alex Elder who, going out for the night with a group of friends, gets attacked by a gang of vampires who kill everyone save Alex. He is instead bitten by the gang leader and thus turned into a vampire. The series follows Alex as he attempts to adjust to life as a vampire. The comic features not only vampires, but werewolves and other supernatural elements, as well as Biblical themes.
The series debuted in 1998 and ran for twenty-four issues. Also published were a special issue as well as a one-shot starring the villainous Scarlet X. It featured the origin of Joe the Indian.
