Micronauts

Micronauts is the North American name for the Microman toy line created by Japanese toy company Takara (later absorbed by TOMY). First released in Japan in 1974, Microman toys were imported to the United States by the Mego Corporation in 1976 under the "Micronauts" name. The line consisted of 3.75-inch tall action figures, vehicles, robots, play sets, and accessories which used a universal, five millimeter inter-connective design.

- The Micronauts "Mobile Exploration Lab" vehicle appears in the 1981 film Time Bandits.
- The "Karrio" carrying case/vehicle appears in the 1982 film Poltergeist.
- Micronauts toys are the main plot device in "The Robot Fixer" vignette from writer-director Greg Pak's 2003 independent film Robot Stories.
- A 2006 Robot Chicken sketch depicts several Micronauts climbing a "mountain" that turns out to be the breasts of Pamela Anderson.
- A few Micronauts characters appear in Howard Hallis' The Picture of Everything.
- "Acroyear2" is the first track on the album LP5 by electronic artists Autechre.
- In The Venture Brothers episode "20 Years to Midnight", Micronauts were on the list of toys that Colonel Gentlemen wished he had when he was a boy.

- The leader-villain "Baron Karza" is a wordplay named after Azrak-Hamway, one of Mego's business rivals.
